Founded in 2000 by Dr. H Paramesh with 14 members, the IAP Environment and Child Health Group began at the Bangalore IAP National Convention. Despite early challenges, including just 8 attendees at the first meeting, the group has grown significantly, now with 1,200 members. Key milestones include recognition from Prof. Ruth Etzel and the official formation of the Environment Chapter in 2024, themed “Global Warming and Child Health.” Under the leadership of Dr. Anandakeshavan, Dr. AR Somashekar, and Dr. I. Shivanand, we continue to advocate for environmental health, guided by the ethos “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.”
