After a struggle of 3 years IAP Environment and Child Health Group started in the year 2000 under the chairmanship of Dr. H Paramesh with 14 members at Bangalore IAP National Convention, our sincere thanks to Dr. Swathi Bhave (President IAP)

One hour was allotted for our group in that time 30 min was allotted to Dr. Peter Sly from Perth Australia Pediatrics head spoke on environment pollution on children health and another 30 min Dr.H Paramesh spoke on environmental pollution and airway allergic diseases with only 8 interested people attending the programme. I feel happy to mention that Prof. Ruth Etzel Past President of American Academy of Pediatrics said “You are One year ahead of AAP” in starting the environment group during W.H.O and IAP Environmental Group training course for paediatrician in New Delhi.

With continued efforts of all in the helm we could able to meet the guidelines of IAP. 2% of membership to start the chapter. Our “Environment chapter started in the year Jan 2024 and the theme is also selected as “Global warming and Child Health”. Our sincere thanks to Prof. G.V Basavaraj  IAP President and esteemed.

Now our chapter with 1200 members headed by Dr.Anandakeshavan, Dr. AR Somashekar,  Dr. I. Shivanand. We like to recollect efforts of Dr. Vinod Ratageri, Dr Alok Gupta, Dr. Sukumaran, Dr. Ramesh kumar, Dr. Balachander, Dr. Ramesh Bajania and Dr. Pramod kumar, Dr. Narmada Ashok , Dr. Nousheed Ani and each one of other members.

Let us move further to propagate our National Ethos  “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (One Planet, One Family One Future) for sustenance of lives nature created. Lets keep 4 “P’s” in mind Positive Thinking, Preserve Mother Earth, Pursue Research On Need Based Issues Of Our Country, Propagate The Knowledge With Figures To Policy Makers.
