ECHC - NATIONAL GREEN ARMY PROJECT
Environment and Child health Chapter( ECHC) is a sub speciality chapter of Indian Academy of Paediatrics ( IAP) with a vision to protect and promote our environment so as to save our children from health hazards so that there adulthood will be free of morbidities and mission is to make our public and future generation aware of the Environmental issues.
NGA is a project of ECHC for school children and young adolescents to retrieve our earth back. The idea is to train our school children on “how we can retrieve the earth“ through certain projects and awareness classes. It will improve the awareness about how environment affects the children’s health and their future.
Plan
The plan of action is to..
- Select one motivated teacher in each school who will be the Green army captain.
Each school will select 10 students for the Army.
- The Green Army Captain (teacher ) of each school will be coordinating the Army with Paediatricians (IAP) of respective district.
The Army will make gardens in schools, agriculture cultivation, water sources caring, waste disposal solutions, awareness about environmental issues and it’s solutions, judicious use of plastics and its scientific disposal … etc.
- The Army will train other students in their school with available resources from Health, Forest and Agriculture departments during assembly at least twice a week.
Improve awareness about environmental issues among parents of school children.
- Making eco friendly environment in schools.
